Following up from our Malala Camp held in March, our annual Malala Day celebration invited the local Ahmednagar schools involved to return and report back on the activities they had completed to promote girls' education since the camp. Students from the following schools had conducted a range of activities:

Panchashil School
Firodiya School
AES Bhausaheb Firodiya High School
GJ Chitambur
Raghavendra Swami School
Snehalaya English Medium School
Prizes and certificates were awarded by a judging panel of Dr Priti Bombe and three peer mentors to those with the greatest impact. The winners, who received prizes to help them continue to promote girls' education, were:
Winner Best Malala activity: Diwate Patil Public School (prize: speaker set)
Runner up Best Malala activity: AES Bhausaheb Firodiya High School
Winner Best Malala photo/video: AES Bhausaheb Firodiya High School (prize: camera)
Runner up Best Malala photo/video: Meher English School (prize: speaker set)
Winner Best Teacher: Ketaki Gogate, Diwate Patil Public School
Runner up Best Teacher: SS Palve, AES Bhausaheb Firodiya High School
Special mention: Malala Babhavan (prize: speaker set)
This was followed by workshops which facilitated them creating an active network with a schedule of meetings to continue to advocate for girls’ education in their communities. All schools gave feedback on their ideas and suggestions. The next meeting will take place on 10 August at Laltaki Balbhavan.
They also worked together to develop a plan for an awareness raising campaign on International Day of the Girl Child on 11 October. Again all schools shared their ideas and suggestions.
