FUNDRAISER
We are once again grateful to Mastek Foundation for hosting a Mumbai fundraiser, Lag Ja Gale, in support of our miyawki forest project in Kinhawali.
We enjoyed an enchanted musical celebration of 100 years of Madan Mohan performed by Sanjeevani Bhelande accompanied by Vaibhav Vashishtha and 22 Saaz conducted by Chirag Panchal. From the haunting tunes of Madan Mohan to the melodious renditions of Lata Mangeshkar, each song was a journey through the depths of emotion and nostalgia. Join us for a front seat to relive the magic of timeless Hindi film songs in an unforgettable evening filled with music and memories.
Sanjeevani is an Indian singer best known for her songs from the movie Kareeb, her English book, Nikamma kiya and album Meera and me and she has performed over 2000 live concerts, including 10 for Mastek. Vaibhav is an actor and singer who has given playback alongside some of the most famous Bollywood singers like Sony Nigam and Shaan and he has also sung in Jodha Akbar on Zee TV.
The night was a huge success with the audience singing along and over 1 crore raised for us and the two other NGOs, Vidyadaan Sahayyak Mandal and Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch. The funds we receive will ensure the indigenous biodiversity of five acres in Kinhawali, an areas serving as lungs to Thane and Mumbai.
Previous fundraisers for Snehalaya by Mastek Foundation have included a tribute to the living legend Lata Mangeshkar, also performed by Sanjeevani. Our Snehalaya UK CEO who was in the audience says: “This is my second time watching Sanjeevani perform to raise funds for Snehalaya via Mastek Foundation. While I am incredibly grateful for the generosity of all involved, the highlight for me both times has been taking a step back into Bollywood history to hear the timeless classics that my Indian colleagues know so well. It’s like a musical tour through time accompanied by amazing artists. I can’t wait for the next one.”
