Honoring teachers

As part of our Teachers Day celebrations we started the day with the distribution of the 5th Indira Shamakant More Awards. Held in memory of the late Shobha Mahadev Kulkarni, it offers us a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the dedication and excellence of our educators. It was hosted by and at our Top Three World’s Best School, Snehalaya English Medium School in front of chief guest, Vikas Kand, President of the Abhang Pratishthan.

Over the last 20 years, Mr Kand has been a driving force behind various initiatives aimed at improving education in remote areas, ensuring quality learning opportunities for children. The establishment of the Abhang English Medium School in 2019 emphasized the goal that every child in the region deserves access to quality education. With over 1,800 students enrolled, the institution continues to reflect Mr Kand's dedication and love for the community.

The event, also attended by parents, educators and members of the community, aims to inspire future generations and raise awareness about the importance of quality education. As well as an opportunity to thank terrific teachers, it also serves as a reminder of the profound impact that educators have on shaping lives and communities. By honoring the dedication of teachers and staff, we not only recognize their hard work but also inspire a culture of excellence in education for years to come. Our Snehalaya awards celebrate the impact of educators who go above and beyond in their commitment to teaching and nurturing students. We are honoured to announce this year’s awardees.

Swargiya Pr. Gopal Bhai Smruti Ideal Employee Award

Sangeeta Sanap, Snehalaya

Having worked with us for 11 years, initially as a teacher in our School before becoming Education Coordinator in our Balbhavan, Sangeeta is now the first person most visitors to Snehalaya meet. She has transformed many lives in Snehalaya, especially through the connections she has made with her students as both a mentor and caregiver. She has played a pivotal role in developing specialized curricula in subjects like Marathi, English and Mathematics, ensuring impactful education for the children.
